Continuous Improvement at Oxford

The Focus team plays a significant role in leading and maintaining the Continuous Improvement (CI) function at Oxford. Since its inception in 2018, Focus has evolved from a small, temporary resource into an established CI function.

You can watch the recording of the presentation where Sara Passmore, Focus Director, and Sarah Doolan, Head of Continuous Improvement, share the story about the growth of the continuous improvement culture at Oxford.

The University of Oxford’s history is one of Continuous Improvement

As Professor William Whyte, Faculty of History and St John's College, expresses in the 2023’s Professional Services Conference History of the University of Oxford plenary session, “throughout its history, the University of Oxford has demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt and improve in response to changing circumstances, ensuring its continued growth and relevance.”

Continuous Improvement is everywhere at Oxford

In his presentation on CI lessons from the frontline at the Focus CI Conference 2023, Professor Peter McCulloch, Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, shares how he implemented CI in the hospital setting.
